Interesting explanation. I also traveled throughout the Bronx for over 50 years for work. That same "configuration" of those apartment buildings can be found along University Ave, Lower Jerome, Prospect, Bronxdale, 141st St, and many many more. Sorry, but for me your explanation holds no water.
