That old spot was just a tiny fill-up station. Most likely, the city will not permit a new station there due to the limited space for traffic, the adjacent bus lane and bus stop, sidewalk access, etc. Also, fuel supply companies rely on extra-service facilities other than gas for profit, and this little spot has no room for that.
