For displaced, misplaced, and nostalgic ex-Bronxites

Posted by Saul Weber on Monday, April 15th 2024: Starting in 1959, when I was 8 years old, when Passover came around I had the task of getting rid of all the bread we had at home. To accomplish this, living 3 blocks from the Boston Road entrance to the Bronx Zoo, I had to take the bread there, so I could feed the elephants. Feeding them one slice at a time, they would grab the slice with their trunks. These days it would and could never be done.
