The Mayfair on Wallace and the Mayflower on Barnes were enormous twin apartment buildings that comprised the entire block between Williamsbridge Road and Arnow Ave. The Mayflower was across the street from the Jewish Center of Williamsbridge, a conservative temple that served the neighborhood when I lived there.
