For years, whenever I went to City Island, I saw in one particular place, written into the cement on the sidewalk, "Del Tones, 1960." Does anyone know anything about them>

The Deltones were a R&R group back in then 60's. Couldn't find the connection to the Bronx

The Deltones were a group out of Chicago, but one of its members, Sammy Basile, had connections in NYC, possibly around Belmont Avenue.
