PSA (hope this is allowed): I started following the mystery photos here a year or so ago and was amused at the chatter regarding people using web tools to search the photo locations. I noticed very little talk about the recent photos and wondered why, so (confession here) I tried to do an image lookup and got no Bronx results at all. Could that explain why no one ID'd the photos? The few guys who were quick to answer almost every mystery for the past year are suddenly quiet. Hmmm.... P.S., I don't know where 213 is but those buildings look like housing projects. Concourse Village maybe?

Hi.I had quite a few hits playing this game.My answers came from what I saw as a kid riding shotgun my father's cab, Then 20 years of Schaefer beer routes. Now it seems like the BB powers that be are using the net to come up with obscure areas that probably didn't exist after 1950.So be it,I'll try anyway. BTW this area could be one of the areas behind Parkchester. If I wanted to(which I don't),somewhere there must be a book on Bronx schools built in the 1940s.But if my brain doesn't have ..Duh

I know exactly where that school yard is because I went there. It's Castle Hill junior high 127. Castle Hill Ave at Parker St. The very right edge of the picture 2 floors down from the top was our apartment.

I think you are correct Tom M. P.S. 127 main entrance is actually on Purdy Street.I went to St. Raymond's High School across the street. The low white roof is actually a storage area for St. Raymond's. Parkchester is in the background. Some of the addresses are on St. Raymond Ave. down the Street from the entrance to St. Raymond's H.S.
