I'm not sure, but the clue talks about a big change to come so I'm thinking a street near the Cross Bx Expwy, or where a big housing project would be built? Parkchester area? Tremont Ave?

That's a big stretch. Any idea where Schulte Cigar was on Tremont Avenue?

Schulte Cigars was a chain of cigar stores with locations throughout NYCity The street sign has a capital letter and space and the rest of the name The capital is an "E" There are very few street names that this could be, especially given the mix of apartment buildings and commercial businesses

Just to make myself clear. Southern Blvd to Park Avenue on Tremont has many blocks that could resemble the mystery photo. That's why I said it's big stretch from those 2 locations to pinpoint the exact location. I remember as a child walking that route on hot summer July day while my mom seemingly stopped at every dress shop along the way. I was wiped by the time we got to Frank's Sporting Goods, lol.

I don't know what street is shown, but I do know that E. Tremont Ave had very few blocks with that many 5 story apartment buildings on level ground in a row with shops along the street. West Farms area had a few blocks like that and also the Crotona area. I vote no on Tremont, but maybe yes on the Concourse?

So I was right about it being the Concourse but I'm amazed that it was at the corner of Fordham Road. Almost hard to believe.
