In 1969 I got a transistor radio with a telescopic antenna and an earplug. I thought it was so cool walking outside with the radio in my coat pocket listening to music through the earplug. In early spring encouraged by my classmates I thought it would be a good idea to listen to the Mets game in class by running the earplug wire through my shirt to my ear. That was fine until Sister Ellineta noticed what I was doing and confiscated my radio until the end of the school year. Oh well. 😄
