OK you Bx wizards, answer this.Lots of streets have part of this Famous name. But two of them are a small bit different. One only runs two blocks. The other one runs four blocks. Both start on the same street, but end up on different ones. This is due to the city at A point in time changing the name of one of them

Great question John. I'm thinking hard because it sounds familiar but I won't GOOGLE it.

I believe this is in the Pelham section of the Bronx, and the landowners mansion sat on the estate until the 1900's! I cannot recall the name, and I could be off base. Their was a large tree associated with this estate that is gone now also, but an iron fence around it survived many years afterwards!

I'm with Joel on this one! Got my curiosity peaked...and as Joel mentioned, it does sound familiar, possibly from a not to distant discussion. I await the answer as well!

OK answer. What is the most famous thing in the Bronx?Easy the name Bronx itself. Now there are at least seven streets, avenues, Blvd.in the Bronx that begin with Bronx. But only two fit the size that I mentioned.Bronx Street, begins at Tremont and ends at E180,only goes two street blocks(178 doesn't go through)> the second is Bronx Park Avenue,It also starts at E180 and ends at E177,four blocks.BTW E177 turns right at Devoe St,blending with Tremont just before coming to Bronx Street.Tremont had a few names.but going west from Bronx street it was also called E177. Bronx Street was on the East side of the river .On the west side ,two blocks over was Bronx Park Avenue
