Wow Saul.........the door under the kitchen window....never thought about that since leaving the Bronx.
And the dumbwaiter.......we had both. When we had good weather, we'd dry our laundry on the roof.
If the weather was bad, we had a contraption in the kitchen where we'd release a rope and down it
would come and we'd hang laundry there.
The roof was also our beach.... my friends from the building and I would sunbathe there...otherwise
we'd go to Orchard Beach. We had such great times growing up in the Bronx.
