A double feature was the main "A" movie and a "B" movie. The "A" movie was the main attraction. The "B" movie was a minor movie like Boston Blackie, or maybe a one hour "Western". Another feature in the second run theaters were the Serials. It was a sin to miss a chapter by not going to the same theater every Saturday. Another action that the theater may do is run the A and B movie with all the extras during the day.The movie plot was a magnet for the kids. At night they ran a completely different movie or two which was geared to the adults. Every theater had matinee prices and higher evening prices. The matinee prices for kids were as low as 10 cents. One Saturday I stood on line at the Elsmere to see Gary Cooper in Sgt. York. When they hung up the sign the price at gone to 11 Cents. I had to run home, I lived on the same block, and acquire another penny. I usually had a nickel for the refreshment stand but nothing extra that Saturday. This was in the year 1941.
