Hall Of Famous Americans

Recently driving north on Sedgwick Avenue past Bronx Community College something caught my eye which compelled me to pull over and look at it closer and photograph.

It was an old sign on the wall at the base of the Hall Of Famous Americans on the BCC campus. Its probably 30 feet high and today it is heavily oxidized and barely visible due to trees obstructing its view which is a real shame. I'd seen an old picture from the 30'or 40'juding by the cars parked on Sedgwick Avenue of the same sign where it was prominently displayed for the world to see.

I tried to post my recent picture on the Boards photo section but it was rejected I guess for legal reasons which I understand.

At one time BCC was actually going to do away with the HOFA until a group of alumni and other historians was formed to preserve it. I'm not sure if they had ever acquired landmark status but it should be granted that right. I remember my father taking me there to do a book report for school which I will always remember.
