Back in the early 1960s [1960 1961 1962] I used to live on Vyse Ave and E 181st St. Being Jewish, when PASSOVER came, we had to get rid of ALL the bread we had. It was "my job" to get rid of it. Living three blocks from the Boston Road entrance to the zoo and Bronx Park South, I took the bread and fed the elephants. The elephants reached out with their trunks and grabbed the bread I had in my hand. Sometimes I wondered if they could tell what kind of bread I had since one elephant would "push" another elephant out of the way to get the bread I had,
