When I was a young kid attending P.S. 56 during the same timeframe, the first line of the school song began with “On Norwood Heights we stand”. I do agree that it wasn’t a term commonly used back then. When someone outside the neighborhood would ask my parents where they lived, they usually answered with “near the last stop of the D train”!
