We even had a newspaper called the "Norwood News" back in the 1960's! In 1968 my brother enlisted in the USAF. When he was assigned to Vietnam, the Norwood News published the info in their paper, and actually sent us a clip of the posting from the issue it was published in! Norwood residents assigned to serve in Vietnam had a brief bio in a section of the newspaper! The original Norwood News disappeared sometime in the 1970's or early 80's, I am not sure of the year of its demise. It was resurrected again in 1988, and serves the northwest Bronx community today and is published bi-weekly. They are located in the Gate Keepers house at Reservoir Oval. We even had a pub named the "Norwood Pub" located at 57 E. Gun Hill Rd. It was popular throughout the 1960's and 70's. They closed up sometime after 1998, Do not know exactly when. If you would like a good read on Bainbridge neighborhood names throughout the years, see Wikipedia "Norwood, Bronx"
