For displaced, misplaced, and nostalgic ex-Bronxites

Posted by Barbara on Tuesday, November 7th 2023: I lived in Brooklyn and my mom lived in the Bronx on Barker Avenue. If anything happened to her, the first contact was a next door neighbor who wasn't home this day. I was second. To make this shorter , I drove as fast as possible and saw the ambulance pulling away. I followed it through red lights....yield signs,....stop signs....I sped.....almost killed someone...got to the ER parking lot. breathless.....they opened the ambulance doors...I came running...it was not my mother.............my mother was still on the floor!
