It looks like a public Junior High School. Maybe very much in the style of JHS 44 although some differences. JHS 44 had an elaborate stone walk up to the front door I believe. There were other entrances to the school in the schoolyard in the back like the one shown in the photo. Could it perhaps be a lower class cousin of JHS 44? Jonas Salk (Polio Vaccine), Hank Greenberg (Baseball Player) and I attended to JHS 44.
