The "calm before the storm" hint makes me think of the photo`s location as being very close to today`s Cross Bronx Expressway! I am guessing that, although I am unable to identify the school`s name and the name of the streets in the photo, could that "oncoming storm" be the destructive path of the Cross Bronx Expressway getting into the way of that school building? If the school is still there, its "new" location could very well be along or very close to the Cross Bronx Expressway.
