I know the apt building you're talking about. I knew one family who lived there, the Skikos. A scandinavian family who belonged to the same club in throggs neck on Clarence Ave as my sister. That club was the Manheim Club, next door to the White Cross Fishing club. All clubs on the water's edge for years. I agree everything was convenient in our neighborhood.
