When entering Sam & Lou's Candy Store on Woodycrest Avenue near W167th Street, I just felt like I belonged there. Both Sam and Lou were gracious hosts, in fact Lou always felt like family. We remained friends until his passing.
I worked there for 3 years from age 14 to 17 and always felt that I belonged. The customers were pleasant which made the job a pleasure.
