There were 3 stores on the corner of 178th st and Marmion Ave. A barbershop, candy store and grocery store. All 3 of the "owners" were characters. Schwartzberg, Morris and Goldberg. I can remember Goldbberg (grocery store) who was a small bald guy, maybe 45 years old, drinking a big bottle of pickle juice from a jar that had a few pickles on the bottom. I spied him from the window one evening around 9 PM and he was behind the counter, in his white apron, he was doing this when it was dark and the store was about to close. He had that big pickle bottle in his 2 hands raised above his head. I left a humerus last impression on a 11 year old.
