Well, I had pretty much the same experience in my first years at St John's Kingsbidge including the take cover and the wardrobe closet across the entire back of the room. But in the sixth grade we attended the 'new school' on Kingsbridge Ave and it was much more 'modern.' (around 1956) Good to hear from you Ancient mariner. I left my email for you.
