Yyyesss!! PS 96 1951-1954. and also the UP and DOWN staircases. I ran UP the DOWN staircase once and got caught by a very "adult" 5th grader, who laughed.
Upward opening desks,inkwells, loong closets with doors, And the classrooms always had a funky smell.
Dog tags an air raid drills.
