Did Your Apartment Have an Impressive Window View?

My family and I moved in 1952 from our house on Cruger Avenue into a new apartment building on Barnes Avenue in the Pelham Parkway section. Our building was the very last one on that block which allowed us to have a sweeping south view from our sixth (top) floor window. We could see SO much of what gave us a huge "valley" appearance of the Van Nest and Morris Park neighborhoods. The highlight of our view was the entire Parkchester skyline!

Do you remember the view from your apartment? If so, can you describe it?
