Going to the zoo is one of my favorite childhood memories. So lucky to have had it in the Bronx. Took two busses to get there. I still have a snapshot of me feeding a deer. And the nearby Botanical Gardens were beautiful. Of course I didn't develop an appreciation for the Gardens until I was older. Hard to compete with lion and tigers and bears, oh my.
