I remember the local pharmacy window also, and it did indeed feature urns filled with colored fluid (which I never could figure out). The other outstanding feature in the window of Beacon Drugs on Starling Ave. was a plastic bust of a man's torso modeling a "truss" (a belt-like device used to alleviate the symptoms of an inguinal hernia). I can't imagine seeing that in a window of a modern day pharmacy. Come to think of it, I don't think modern day pharmacies have windows!
