My granddaughter is “graduating” from the eighth grade and entering “high school” next semester. That's the way we did it in the Bronx 80 years ago when I graduated from St. Margaret's in the north Bronx (am I allowed to say Riverdale”?) I live ashore now in the mid-west where there is a thing called “middle school” which I fully understand but which seems to me to be regional. Has the Bronx gone to “middle schools” or can you still get a cap and gown in the Bronx before you have to start “High School” with a long bus-trolley (no more) train ride like I did in 1943?
