A young girl was hit by a car which was coming around on West Tremont across from the lumber yard.
The people in our building and the next building got together and blocked traffic and protested that they needed a light there................it was my first demonstration and the end result was that they put up a
yellow caution light.

Well, that success led to my life experiences with the civil rights movement and a few other groups.
