General: Family day trips to Orchard beach, City island (Johnny's fried shrimps were and still the best) and The Bronx Zoo. Nothing more majestic than catching a movie At Loew's Paradise.

Specific: June 6, 1969, Yankee Stadium. First ever trip there. Yankees beat the White Sox. 2 things stand out for me on that day. Joe Namath temporarily retired from the Jets because he wouldn't sell his bar lounge "Bachelors III" and Chicago's road uniforms were a colorful powder blue with White Stirrups. Apparently it started a fashion trend throughout both leagues over the next 20 years. Full disclosure I'm a die hard Mets fan... But I love the great national pastime.
