The last relative I had who lived in the Bronx, my father, died in 2004 (Co-op City). He had a friend , maybe 10 years younger, who lived near Allerton Avenue, but that friend had throat cancer and certainly is dead by now. As for my friends, I have one friend who stayed in the Bronx in their family apartment, but that friend, who shall be nameless, had a serious injury and very well may have to go into some sort of a facility. In an ideal world, I would have been able to hold onto my father's Co-op City apartment free of charge, so my wife and I could spend some weekends on City Island. But we don't live in an ideal world.
