Here in Central New York, there is a much better quality of life than I ever experienced in the Bronx...for all of the reasons we all think about with two exceptions that strike me: we certainly don't have access to the kind of diversions that Manhatten has to offer (i.e. museums) or for that matter, the great Bronx Zoo, which I used to frequent often, it being within twenty minutes from my apartment. Plus, the winters here are long and bitter, much worse than the winters down in the City, which I remember as mild by comparison and more short lived. Apart from those two factors, it's a much healthier and safer place to live and bring up children here in upstate New York.
