Whenever I am in downtown Brooklyn, it always feels and LOOKS LIKE the BIG CITY that it was before it became a borough in 1898. In fact, it was the THIRD largest city in the United States until 1898. The Bronx, only about 6 miles wide from east to west and about 6 miles long from north to south, was known as "The Great North Side" of New York City until it became the Borough of The Bronx in 1898. We Bronxites who post on this Board have the advantage of being more active in our participation because our neighborhoods are more geographically "blended together" compared to Brooklyn neighborhoods which are very large and would require many more participants to match the number of those who participate more frequently on the Bronx Board.
