My parents did get married in the Bronx, in 1949, but I don't know where. Furthermore, there was no music at their wedding because my father's brother, one of a relatively small group of American Jewish ex-GIs who volunteered to fight with the Haganah during the Israeli war of independence, had been killed fairly recently by a sniper in Jerusalem.
