1978 I moved to Putnam County. I was married with a 2 year old daughter. As a NYPD police officer in the Bronx I had many occasions to respond to the schools. I did not want my daughter in that school system. If I stayed I was going to have to pay for a private school. If I moved to a good school district, I could claim the school taxes. There were many other reasons but the schools were at the top of my list.
