Hi, Diane! Small world! I was 16 years old in 1955 when my parents and I left The Bronx and moved into a brand-new cooperative apartment building in Kew Gardens Hills, overlooking the campus of Queens College. I lived on 149th Street off Melbourne Avenue. There are MANY garden apartments immediately to the south of Queens College that stretch from Melbourne Avenue all the way to 73rd Avenue. Did you live in that area, or were you closer to Jewel Avenue, west of Main Street? In 1965, I married my Bronx wife (who grew up in Kingsbridge Hights on Sedgwick Avenue) and moved back to The Bronx from Flushing, into a high-rise apartment building called "Orloff Towers" on Bailey Avenue in Kingsbridge. We moved to Long Island in 1969 following the birth of our older son. Thanks so much for responding, Diane. Just think, had you moved to Kew Gardens Hills just a few years before you got married in 1967, we could have been neighbors! Best wishes for the holidays and a happy and healthy 2023! Sammy
