I was very small in 1960, tho I recall the Opening of Freedomland. Yet living in the Bronx over the next years was growing up in a land of less and less. In 1964 Freedomland was boarded up. There was the World's Fair but that was it. The subways were getting more dangerous, people were moving far away. The Hub was once a top center for stores. No I knew went there. tremont avenue was in decline. Fordham Rd also. That is what I recall.
