Hi, Philip!

I found some additional information regarding Westchester Square in John McNamara`s "History in Asphalt". He tells us that the area of Westchester Square was the original Dutch outpost of the early 1600s which developed into a village called "Oostdorp". The Dutch name "Oostdorp" means "East Village" whose location was east of the colony of Nieuw Amsterdam.
