Had a Daily News paper route E 209th St., from Parkside to Perry Ave...during high school, my older brother got me a job cleaning & stacking shelves in an Italian Deli somewhere on White Plains Road (it was south of Gun Hill I believe). Got fired for being late all the time, as I had to work 5p to 7p and at Mount St. Michael Academy, my days where sometimes long. After that gig, got a job photographing users of home health equipment for a supplier on Hull & Gun Hill. Ventured into Brooklyn for the first time in my life! My father got me an apprentice job with an auto mechanic shop on Webster & 179th St. He did that to keep me off the streets during the summer & Saturdays, because I refused to put time in at his butcher shop on Southern Blvd.
