It was a mixed bag. The summers were exciting - from going to the country to Bronx House Emanual
Camp (sliding scale for us poorer folks) or playing handball in the court ....or Orchard Beach with
friends....gosh.....we were so lucky.........I can't remember if we found out who our teachers were
before or after we got there in September. But getting new supplies at our local candy store was
always a positive experience esp if we were able to throw in a comic or two..... Oh, I forgot Cascades
(or Jerome pool...they kept changing the name.....)
