Happy 4th to all!
I remember the bicentennial "blowout" we had in 1976. We even had a local garage band playing live music on Pugsley and Gleason Aves. It did seem was like a mini war zone. By midnight we were throwing all kinds of leftover ordinance, packs of fireworks, ashcans, cherry bombs and bottle rockets into a 55-gallon drum that actually got red hot and melted the asphalt. Looking back, thankfully no one got hurt.
Just think, in 4 more years hopefully America will be celebrating her 250th. We're too old now for shooting off our own fireworks. So, we'll just watch from a safe distance. Without the hearing aid. God willing.
Enjoy.
