Hi Walter, My friends and I did the same. Took the subway from 231 st to 181 st and then walked across the Bridge. We spent a dime on the public service bus to Palisades Park. On many occasions we spent all our money on rides and had to walk home. Probably in '56 when I was about 12 and several spring and summers after that! I cannot imagine doing that today!!!!
