I was also on a drill team. I can't recall the name of our squadron. We met at Hunter, as I said. Our drill team would practice in the Kingsbridge Armory. Cold as the Arctic in the Winter. Every Sunday. I recall that the National Drill Team competition would be held in Colorado Springs at the AF Academy. Our team was good but never got as far as Washington, DC, that's for sure. Great bunch of guys. I can only remember a couple of names: Franco, Hill. I remember one summer we spent I think a week up at the old Griffis AF Base in Rome, NY. At that time it was a SAC and fighter base. KC-135s and F-101 Voodoos. Base is gone now. I got to fly in a small plane out of Westchester Cty. A/P and a C-47 at Griffis. I wound up going to NYS Maritime College and getting an engineer's license in the Merchant Marine.
