There are only about 5 or so basic configurations used in apartment buildings constructed in the late 20's through the late 30's & beyond. Selections expanded as the years progressed, and newer designs superseded the old ones. Within any specific configuration, you may see differences in options such as elevators, dumbwaiters, or neither. Of course, choice of fa├žades and brick type/color added uniqueness to each. Your building was razed sometime before 1992 or so. Do you have any old photos? If not, can you describe or draw out what the building exterior and lobby looked like? Did it have a central courtyard with the entrance door in the middle? Central courtyard with doors on each side of the building? Double staircases in he lobby? No courtyard, just a single door in the middle?
Once you identify the configuration, you can use google earth to seek out similar appearing buildings. Note the addresses, then enter them into real estate websites to see pictures of apartments for rent (if available).
