Hi, John... I remember that subway turn very well! Whenever I stood at the front door and window of the first subway car, next to the motorman`s booth, I prepared myself for the "big crash" into that building. I know it`s still there. During the 1940s and 50s, its name was "Hotel Bronx"! Another "near collision" took place with the apartment building immediately before entering the Bronx Park East station!
