Thanks, Jim, for letting me know that the bocce courts on the west side of Teller Avenue were actually across the street from JHS 145, although I am sure they must have closed down before 1965 when I started to teach there. I never knew about Sterling Oval with its soccer leagues and professional boxing matches as being the former "occupant" of the land now completely taken up by JHS 145. As for those boxing matches, I can recall a number of them which took place both inside AND outside the school during the years that I worked there and they were NOT done by professionals! (LOL)
