Hi Raanan.I'm guessing that during the war,people kept their car a long time(if they had one).But mid 50s till maybe the 80s,some people only kept their car for 3 years.They changed the look of a model every year,so some folks had to "keep up with the Jones".When better cars (mostly jap) were being made,people held them longer.Today 10+ year old cars are everywhere. Hell ,my Camry is 16 years old.Even up to the 50s ,cars needed work to stay alive. Valve jobs, Piston rings etc..
