I just finished reading this book and enjoyed the many pictures of all areas of the BX.I have to say my knowledge of many parts of the BX is/was limited. Also it mentions a game called "one-a-cat" played. I never heard of that. Buildings that were in various parts also were very interesting. "The Home For Friendless Children".?? What a name = on Woodycrest. The Dutch Gardens & Van Cortlandt Mansion in Van Cortland park. Marshall Mansion in Pelham Bay. I wonder why it had to be demolished. It was a beautiful building.
