How well I remember standing at my Bronx bedroom window on a cold winter's day on Christmas Eve (ah yes, we used to have Seasons back then)looking out at the Pelham Parkway traffic while Christmas music played on Nonna's humble bakelite radio in the kitchen, which itself was filling up with steamy aromas of Nonna's angelic cooking.
As I looked out the window I also looked at our OLD 1940's Christmas lights hanging on the window, trying to figure out which one had gone out (when one went out the whole unit went dark). I was always very good at figuring this out. Then dusk would fall and us kids would get very antsy about the gifts under the tree (that Pee Wee kitty used to climb and wreck, LOL). What a magical time for everyone.
I hope your Holiday Celebrations bring you joy, presents, love and PEACE.
