We played "off the curb" at the corner of East 175th street and Clay avenue. Home plate was near a sewer. If the ball was accidentally thrown down the sewer, we had to do some "Bronx fishing" with a wire coat hanger that was straightened out and a loop formed at the end. Whoever threw it down, had to try and get it out.

Playing stickball along Clay avenue - if the ball was hit foul and landed on the roof of an apartment building, one of us had to climb 4 or 5 flights of stairs and hope that the door leading onto the roof was unlocked.
