Did you ever experienced having NO GAS in the apartment building you might have lived in ??? I mean where the gas to the ENTIRE BUILDING had been turned off by Con Ed from the gas main in the street

Well for the past week one building of the 35 buildings in Co-Op City has been without gas because the fire department "RED TAGGED" the building because of gas odor in the basement. Every apartment had their stoves disconnected from the gas line, and then the gas line got capped. Once all the 380+ apartments in that 33 floor tower building gets this done, each of the various gas lines in the building gets pressure tested for a leak. If a leak is deleted the entire line has to be replaced, meaning breaking the entire height of the wall in every kitchen to get to the gas line.

Once a line has passed, comes the tedious process of replacing the entire connection from the wall to the stove. According to estimates the entire process will take at best 4 weeks to completed or it might take two months or more.

Horrendous situations for the all of the tenants in that building especially with THANKSGIVING and CHRISTMAS coming and the traditional family celebrations not being able to take place.
